So Ana runs outside after grabbing her stuff, and nearly faints as soon as she’s out the door. She collapses to the ground, and is vaguely aware of Christian running towards her. Taylor runs into the building after Ana whispers “Jack,” so I’m assuming Taylor is going to go in there and whup his ass even harder.

Then Ana kind of loses her mind and starts giggling? I guess that’s pretty normal, with all the stress she just went through. Christian asks if Jack touched Ana, and Ana replies “Only once.” Christian, of course, is furious.

And then Christian stands up and tells Ana to get in the car, and he clearly wants to go into the building and fuck Jack up, but Ana begs him not to because she doesn’t want to be left alone. They hear shouting in the building between Taylor and Jack, but suddenly it stops.

Ana tells Christian about what Jack knows from her emails, and Christian gets even more pissed. He calls someone and tells them to wipe Ana’s emails to Christian off the server, and then to check Jack’s personal files to see if the emails are stored there as well.

Christian calls another guy and says “Hyde–I want him out. Now. This minute. Call security. Get him to clear his desk immediately, or I will liquidate this company first thing in the morning.”

Good. Jack deserves that.

“Blackberry,” he hisses at me through clenched teeth.
“Please don’t be mad at me.” I blink up at him.
“I am so mad at you right now,” he snarls and once more sweeps his hand through his hair. “Get in the car.”
“Christian, please–”
“Get in the fucking car, Anastasia, or so help me I’ll put you in there myself,” he threatens, his eyes blazing with fury.
Oh shit. “Don’t do anything stupid, please,” I beg.
STUPID!” he explodes. “I told you to use your fucking Blackberry. Don’t talk to me about stupid. Get in the motherfucking car, Anastasia–NOW!” he snarls and a frisson of fear runs through me.

are you fucking kidding me

ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS RIGHT NOW.

YOUR GIRLFRIEND WAS JUST NEARLY RAPED BY HER BOSS, SHE HAD TO LITERALLY FIGHT HIM OFF, SHE WAS SO UPSET BY THE ENCOUNTER THAT SHE LITERALLY COLLAPSED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING

AND YOU

THINK

IT’S A GOOD IDEA

TO

FUCKING

SWEAR

AT

HER.

go fuck yourself

NOW IS NOT THE FUCKING TIME, CHRISTIAN.

Yes, Ana shouldn’t have used her work email to send you shit.

Yes, that was stupid.

NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO BERATE HER FOR IT. SHE WAS ALREADY SCARED OUT OF HER MIND ONCE TODAY, YOU DON’T NEED TO MAKE IT TWICE.

YOU, SIR, ARE AN ASSHOLE. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU.

GO BUY YOUR GIRLFRIEND SOME WINE AND SOME ICE CREAM AND TUCK HER INTO BED AND READ HER A BOOK.

YOU DO NOT YELL AT SOMEONE LITERALLY 2 MINUTES AFTER THEY WERE VERY NEARLY RAPED.

FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU SO HARD.

Ana finally gets in the car but tells Christian to be careful, and tells him that if anything were to happen to him, it would “kill her.”

And suddenly Christian is just fine and mostly level-headed again.

Jesus. He’s more like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde than Jack was.

Scary mood swings are bad news, guys. Christian is a scary motherfucker.

Christian goes into the building and comes out 25 minutes later with Taylor, and there’s a security guard escorting Jack out of the building. Jack is carrying a cardboard box, which we can assume is all of the shit from his desk. Jack gets into a cab and leaves.

Christian and Taylor get in the car and start driving. Christian gets a call from someone, I guess the IT guy who wiped the emails, and the guy says that he found some mysterious other stuff on Jack’s computer. Christian says they’ll talk about it when he gets home.

Oh jesus, and now Christian is giving Ana the silent treatment.

Yup, that’s nice, emotionally abuse your girlfriend after she was threatened with blackmail and sexual assault. What a gentleman, Christian. You’re definitely “God’s Gift to Women” alright.

They get back to Christian’s apartment and Christian is still mad, and I guess he’s so mad because he was so scared of what could have happened to Ana?

Um…hello…she can take care of herself, as she so clearly showed us all? It’s fine to be worried, but to be SO WORRIED that you have to take it out on her? That’s not cool, dude.

Oop, and now they’re kissing. Should have seen that one coming.

Christian goes into another room to call the IT guy back, and Mrs. Jones makes Ana some dinner and gets her some wine.

What if I’d never met Christian? I’d be holed up in my apartment, talking it through with Ethan, completely freaked out by my encounter with Jack, knowing I would have to face the sleazeball again on Friday.

And then you and Ethan could make out! And also you probably wouldn’t have to face Jack again, because after that incident you’d call HR and report the fuck out of him, and if they didn’t do anything about it then perhaps get the police involved, and if everyone refused to help you or there was nothing they could do about the situation, YOU WOULD QUIT, because there’s no reason for you to ever have to deal with Jack ever again.

But seriously I ship Ana and Ethan pretty hard now. Ever since they went out to the bar together…so perfect. I mean, I’m still a Kana shipper for life, but Kate’s been away for the entirety of this book, so we haven’t gotten any fun interactions between the two of them, so it’s hard to ship them if they never see each other.

Anyway.

Christian tells Ana she still has a job if she wants it, which she does. She then calls him “master of my universe” again, which is the name of the fanfiction this was based on, in case you guys forgot, and I want to vomit on this book so hard you have no idea. “Master of my universe?” Fuck that shit. YOU should be the master of your universe, no one else.

Alright, I have to go eat dinner, I still have another 78 pages left on my iphone of this chapter, so you guys will have to wait a little while before you see the next part. Sorry about that!

  1. I could so see Charlie Hunnam(Christian Grey) killing this scene. He had a similar scene in Sons of Anarchy a season or ago. Anyways awesome blog. Keep ’em coming.
